"Butternuts is a little further away from the other Cooperstown area breweries but it's absolutely worth the visit. The brewery has a much smaller, more grassroots vibe then the others as well, but the beer is excellent (and there's much more to try than the iconic Porkslap you've no doubt had if you're from out of town like me). I should note the tasting room is closed during the winter months, but we showed up not knowing that and we were welcomed in anyway for a full private tour and a tasting of whatever was available. There just aren't enough people left on Earth who are willing to inconvenience themselves for strangers and I think it really speaks volumes. Go pay them a visit."

You can tell that they genuinely brew beer they enjoy drinking and are proud of their offerings. A unique experience, it is very relaxing to enjoy a brew while sitting on their countryside patio. Brewing out of what was once a barn, their operation is small, but the flavor and passion they put into their craft is immense."
