"Visited last night for the first time to play Sporcle live trivia. The upstairs was nearly empty, maybe that's normal for a Thursday night. I inquired about the trivia, and was told it was downstairs. I descended the stairs to a really interesting cavernous space, where there was only a bartender and one patron. Very echoey. I learned that there wasn't a server, you need to get your own drinks from the bar and can order from a limited 'speakeasy' menu. I chose the pretzels ($5.86) and was disappointed that 2 pretzels meant two sticks. They were hot, fresh and delicious, but for the price there should have been more. I chose a very interesting beer, called Through the Fire and Flames. Having some hints of habanero, it's one you sip for sure. I'll definitely have that again.
My companion ordered from the upstairs restaurant by (no kidding) calling in her order. From downstairs. Then had to run upstairs to pick it up. Guys - when you're playing a trivia match this is very awkward as is getting your own drinks. A server (and a menu from upstairs) would be great. When we go out for trivia night, we like to eat and drink. A lot. We would have consumed more and spent more if it was easier to do.
I do need to add that $9.00 for 4 little meatballs served in a box was crazy.
Overall - we'll probably be back but may have to eat beforehand elsewhere."
